Concurso para a atribuição de uma Bolsa de iniciação à Investigação em Informática

Encontra-se aberto concurso para a atribuição de 1 Bolsa de Iniciação à Investigação no âmbito do projeto de investigação de digitalização do património HEDGE (cc-12040302), com o apoio financeiro de Património Cultural, IP, nas seguintes condições: 

1.  Área Científica: Engenharia Informática 
2.  Categoria/perfil dos destinatários

Requisitos obrigatórios: A frequentar Licenciatura ou mestrado na área de Engenharia Informática. Inscrição em curso de iniciação à investigação em informática não conferente de grau académico.

Factores preferenciais:

• Bons conhecimentos em modelação de ontologias no contexto cultural.
• Bons conhecimentos em tecnologias e ferramentas Semantic Web e Linked Open Data e o seu uso.
• Experiência de investigação nas áreas relevantes do plano de trabalhos.

3.  Plano de trabalhos:

O objetivo é fornecer uma estrutura ontológica para a representação de dados sobre objetos 2D e 3D no contexto dos museus, com base em ontologias como o CIDOC CRM, que esteja alinhada com os objetos atualmente abrangidos pelo processo de digitalização de muitos bens culturais em Portugal. Para tal, o plano de trabalhos inclui os seguintes passos:

• revisão da literatura sobre normas e terminologias existentes;
• estudo dos formatos e estruturas de dados utilizados na plataforma @rquiva e da documentação dos objetos 2D e 3D recentemente digitalizados;
• desenvolvimento de uma ontologia que incorpore adequadamente os aspetos específicos destes objetos;
• implementação prototípica de um repositório digital acessível/interrogável utilizando tecnologias da Web Semântica, como endpoints SPARQL.

5.  Local de trabalho:

O trabalho será desenvolvido no Departamento de Informática da Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa sob a orientação científica do Professor Doutor Matthias Knorr. 

6.  Duração da(s) bolsa(s):

A bolsa terá à duração de 3 meses, eventualmente renovável durante a vigência do projeto, não excedendo, com a celebração do contrato de bolsa em causa, incluindo as renovações possíveis, um período acumulado de 1 ano, seguido ou interpolado, neste tipo de bolsa. 

7.  Valor do subsídio de manutenção mensal:

O montante da bolsa corresponde a €651,12 tendo por referência a tabela de valores das bolsas atribuídas diretamente pela FCT, I.P. no País, sendo o pagamento efetuado mensalmente por transferência bancária.

8.  Métodos de selecção: 

Os métodos de selecção a utilizar serão os seguintes:

            - Avaliação curricular (50%)

            - Experiência relevante para a execução do projecto (50%)

10.  Forma de publicitação/notificação dos resultados:

O projecto de decisão da avaliação do júri será notificado, até 90 dias após a data limite para a submissão de candidaturas, através de correio electrónico, disponibilizando o acesso às actas e à lista de ordenação provisória.

Após a notificação, os candidatos terão 10 dias úteis para se pronunciarem sobre o projecto de decisão, em sede de audiência prévia dos interessados, nos termos do Código do Procedimento Administrativo. A decisão final será tomada após o decurso do período de audiência prévia, novamente notificada a todos os candidatos através de correio electrónico, cabendo reclamação da mesma, no prazo de 15 dias úteis (para o endereço de e-mail utilizado para a notificação), ou recurso, no prazo de 30 dias úteis, endereçado a di.secretariado@fct.unl.pt

Call for applications for a Research Initiation Grant in Computer Science

Reference: HEDGE/BII/01

A call is open for the award of 1 Research Initiation Grant within the scope of the heritage digitization research project HEDGE (cc-12040302), with financial support from Património Cultural, IP, under the following conditions

1.  Scientific Area: Computer Science

2.  Recipients profile/category

Mandatory requirements: Studying in a BSc or Master’s program in computer Science or equivalent; enrollment in a research initiation course in computer science not leading to an academic degree.

             Preferred factors:

• Good knowledge of ontology modeling in the cultural context.
• Good knowledge of Semantic Web and Linked Open Data technologies and tools, and their use.
• Research experience in areas relevant to the work plan.  

3.  Work Plan:

The objective is to provide an ontological structure for the representation of data on 2D and 3D objects in the context of museums, building on ontologies like CIDOC CRM, that aligns with the objects currently covered in the digitization process of many objects of cultural value in Portugal. To that end, the workplan includes the following steps:

- literature review on existing standards and terminologies;

- study of utilized data formats and structures on the @rquiva platform and the documentation of the the recently digitized 2D and 3D objects;

- development of an ontology that adequately incorporates the aspects specific to these objects;

- prototypical implementation of a digital repository that is accessable/queryable using Semantic Web technologies such as SPARQL endpoints.

4.  Applicable legislation and regulations:

5.  Workplace: The work will be developed at Departamento de Informática / Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, under the supervision of Professor Matthias Knorr.

6.  Fellowship duration: The grant will have a duration of 3 months, potentially renewable during the project, not exceeding, with the signing of the grant contract in question, including possible renewals, a cumulative period of 1 year, whether consecutive or non-consecutive, for this type of grant.

7.  Monthly maintenance allowance amount: The amount of the monthly maintenance allowance corresponds to €651.12 euros.

8.  Selection criteria:

 The selection criteria will be the following:

      - Curricular evaluation (50%)

      - Relevant experience to the execution of the project (50%)

10.Form of advertising/notification of results:

The evaluation results proposed by the juri will be notified, up to 90 days after the deadline for the submission of applications, by email, of the results proposed by the jury, with access to the minutes and the final ranking list.

After notification, candidates will have 10 working days to comment on the draft decision (prior hearing of interested parties, under the terms of the Code of Administrative Procedure). The final decision will be taken after the expiry of the prior hearing period, again notified to all candidates by e-mail. Of this final decision the candidates can file a complaint within 15 working days (to the e-mail address used for the notification), or a hierarchical appeal, within 30 working days, addressed to di.secretariado@fct.unl.pt

11.  Application deadline and form of application submission: this call is open from 24/06/2025 to 07/07/2025. The application must include the following documents: CV, motivation letter, proof of enrollment in a BSc or Master program, and proof of enrollment in a research initiation course in computer science.

12.  Documents that are of mandatory submission, for purposes of the studentship contracting: proof of enrollment in BSc or Master program and proof of enrollment in a research initiation course in computer science.
