Job summary

One Research Fellowship for MSc student is opened under the scope of the project GOLEM - Automated Programming to Revolutionize App Development (Lisboa-01-0247-Feder-045917), funded by FEDER, POR Lisboa 2020, ANI - Agência Nacional de Inovação and Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia, I.P., under the following conditions:

 1.  Main research field: Computer Science

2. Admission Requirements:  The candidates should have a BSc in Computer Science and Engineering or Similar.

3. Work Objectives: The work plan of this scholarship consists in applying deductive program synthesis techniques to the incremental generation of a database schema in a relational database. Synthesis is based on high-level specifications, expressed in a simple domain specific language, and produces data definition operations that build/transform the database schema. This work contributes to the general architecture of project GOLEM, and interfaces with the natural language processing component designed to capture and represent high-level programming operations. The work plan will be supervised by Professor João Costa Seco and Professor Bernardo Toninho.

5. Place of work: NOVA Laboratory for Computer Science and Informatics (NOVA LINCS) - Departamento de Informática, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia, Universidade Nova de Lisboa.

6. Duration: The position will be contract for 5 months, possibly renewable in accordance with the provisions of Regulation of Research Fellowships from FCT I.P. 

7. Amount of the Fellowship: monthly payment by bank transfer of €835,98 net according to the regulations of the FCT Scientific Fellowships in Portugal (http://alfa.fct.mctes.pt/apoios/bolsas/valores).

8. Selection Method: The selection will be based on the following criteria:

i) (40%) Academic record of the candidate

ii) (60%) relevance of research experience for the development of the work plan

 The jury may also decide not to assign the scholarship, if none of candidates meets the required conditions.

10. Communication of the results: The admitted and excluded candidates will be notified by email of the final ranking list.
