During a whole week, 20 to 24 of July, 24 college students from 16 different nationalities visited the Caparica Campus and the Computer Science and Informatics Department to learn how to develop a computer game. The summer course, organized by BEST Almada, sponsored by Accenture, with the collaboration of the NOVA Informatics department, was called “Build your summer addiction!”. Professors João Costa Seco e Fernando Birra from the Integrated Master in Informatics Engineering were responsible for the lectures and lab sessions.
The students were divided in multi-disciplinary teams that conceived, planned, and developed prototypes of computerized games for the web and mobile devices. The course followed a specific software development methodology and frameworks for web applications and games.
