The Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (FCT), one of the nine organic units of Universidade Nova de Lisboa (New University of Lisbon), is located at Monte de Caparica, south of Rio Tejo (Tagus River) in a campus with 30 ha (circa 70 acres).
Created in 1977, FCT is today one of the most prestigious portuguese schools in engineering and sciences, having enrolled anually betwen 6000 and 7000 students.
