A group of 51 students from 9th grade of St. Dominic's International School have visited the Department on February 16, under the FCT-NOVA initiative “Vem Ver”.
The activity proposed to these students was “The Hour of Code”. “The Hour of Code” is a challenging activity for people of all ages, consisting in a one-hour problem-solving and programming with a tutorial about the basic concepts of programming and computing.
For this activity we had the participation of João Moura Pires, João Costa Seco, Miguel Goulão, professors from the DI, and Catarina Almeida (student of the PhD program in Computer Science).
All participants were very enthusiastic about this computer programming challenge.
